FTP utility wanted

Howdy

traffic control
Hi all, I'm making a nat box which will be shared among a few people wirelessly, from remote...

I don't have the most reliable internet connection in the world but need to do a fair amount of ftp uploads (not downloads) to a server. These tend to be fairly parge files and just using "ftp" or the like tends to plant out mid file. Lots of files so manually restarting is a PITA.

I'm interested in a "smart" ftp utility - preferrably command line driven - that will automate this. In particular I should be able to give it a source directory or list of files plus a destination ( with login-pbuttword ) and it will keep retrying as needed until all of the source is uploaded.

I tried a GUI-based app (fileZilla) but it kept locking up and I'd really rather have a CLI util.

Am running RH9 on machine of interest ( yes I know it is obsolete and all that but it works and hasn't been hacked yet ) and I plan to upgrade this summer when I have the time )

Very little time so I really don't want to build this myself plus I'd bet others have a similar need, so---

any suggestions for such a utility?

thanks

Stan
