Filesystem corrupts after power failure 2364Snip... My guess, also--possibly only a root parbreastion. I agree with others there is no filesystem "answer" to powerfails. And a single root parbreastion will make some recovery scenarios more complicated, IME. IMO, it's not a grub-lilo-whateverboot bug; it's b0rked hardware. The problem is related to exim4: $ catvar-log-exim4-paniclog 2006-08-30 17:32:05 socket bind... An UPS is very cost effective compared to explaining to customers why the data is inaccessible, if not completely vanished. When I was doing it, my job included explaining to my customers BEFOREHAND why they might want to consider a "cost" like having an UPS installed, or parbreastioning with data (likehome) and system areas apart, or doing regular backups. As mentioned, a $40 UPS with consistent status checks are cheap, compared to irate customers screaming about downtime on Red Line One. problem: keyboard and mouse do not work when I run mplayer with "vo directfb" option Hallo all members. When I run mplayer with "-vo directfb" option, my mouse and keyboard does not work when movie is played back. Of... Generally, it's not smart to cut corners with a cheap "one size fits all" approach everywhere--especially when it involves customer expectations.
