There are two user directories under .mozilla-firefox and I am tempted to save my bookmarks elsewhere, delete the one it is using and retry, but I would first like to understand the reason for the segfault.

I remember seeing a security advisory regarding firefox that affected all platforms - some javacode leading to a race condition leading to a crash

Now, I did not upgrade because upgrading to the latest versions on Debian Stable Testing is such a pain and my initially loaded tabs (5 of them) have no javascript on them. This is not to say that this crash has nothing to do with that, but I would first like to understand why is the browser crashing.
