Since you don't do that, I don't see the need to do this either. Further, your statement is wrong. If I communicate with *you*, I don't need to use words that a *generally* accepted meaning. I should use words, that *you* understand. Lastly, "public login" is specific. If you don't understand, it's your problem, since *you* don't understand the generally accepted common meaning.

Nope.

Fine. Glad that I did not give you a polish answer then.

Wrong.

No, *I* did not. Tony wrote that. But anyhow, to make it easier for you, we shall buttume that I said that.

Too bad.

I'm so sorry.

I gave an answer that's suitable for you.

I don't put up with your interpretation.

As said over and over again: It helps, as it forces the thieve to login from an allowed IP. IOW: Not from China.

Of course not. That's not the task of a packet filter.

Wrong.

No, you're not.

Who said, that the attack is against the encryption? Certainly not me.

Wrong. There might be other holes.

Of course not. The packet filter isn't supposed to stop anyone from stealing the private key.

No. To give you a tiny hint: SSH logs connection attempts. If the "log device" runs full, that's often bad. There you've got an attack that's not directed at cryptography. Also, SSH is quite "expensive". Running a *HUGE* number of connection attempts will thus be bad for the server. Another non crypto attack.

Bull - as usual.

No, perfectly true. You seem somewhat naive about probabilities and stats .. Of course I do. Bayesian reasoning. False deduction. Incorrect logic. I can know plenty of things about things that haven't occurred...

Wrong.

Wrong.

Peter T. Breuer Generally, public access is taken to mean access from the internet, though it can also refer to...

Wrong.

Wrong.

You're wrong.

Wrong.

No. You're silly.

Wrong. You don't get it, do you?

Wrong. Already the 2nd step is wrong. Didn't think that you're that bad.

You're coming from wrong conclusions.

No.

Of course not. It's not supposed to. Why do you buttume that it is supposed to? Maybe you should read some book about firewalls.

Yes, you are. The packet filter is supposed to make it harder for an attacker to break in. It's not the only line of defense (this would be *EXTREMELY* silly).

No, you don't. You usually wish to insult people.
