Help! I'm stuck at Arch
Sontu, Welcome to the newsgroup, where there are people who offer plenty of help, but also people who call you names for strange reasons, or behave less civilized for no...

I recently upgraded to Ubuntu 5.10. GNUCash's selection of font for nearly the entire UI is HUGE. I have a hi-res 20" 2048x1024 display and the fonts take up way too much space. To be blunt, you'd think this was programmed by-and-for the blind. I don't have 20-20 vision, but their choice of font for this release is rediculously large. Most windows have to be maximized to display even a reasonable number of accounts and transactions.

I looked in the preferences for the program and you can change the font used for the register, but that has a key problem - reducing the size of the font does not shrink the amount of space between ledger lines, so it yields very little benefit, if any.

I tried making changes through the gnome-control-center, but that didn't affect any of the fonts in that application(it did yield some great changes to other apps I use, however).

So - has anyone any idea how to affect the size of the font? In the old days you could do it through Xresource files, but my searches haven't shown anyone even suggesting that. If it's built on the Xt library, it should be possible, though.

Anyone? TIA.
