GRUB question 2250
Allan Adler It would nice if you could provide information-profile of your computer -- this could help -- infact every user use do this. One of the...

I'm afraid to say why I need it, because then people might only be motivated to find ways for me to do the same thing with Linux and never tell me how to do what I want to do, which is install FREEDOS onmnt-c. When the time comes, I'll be interested in how to do the same things with Linux. Right now I want to install FREEDOS on that one parbreastion, already formatted for DOS, and experiment with it. I'm aware of stuff like dosemu. I want FREEDOS on its own parbreastion with no connection to Linux (even though I really do like Linux much better than DOS).

One of the things one is supposed to be able to do with Linux is to have Linux on one parbreastion and DOS and other operating systems on other parbreastions, and that's what I'm trying to do. I tried booting the PC with a Windows boot disk but it was unable even to recognize the hard drive (it did, however, recognize the CDROM drive), much less copy anything to one of the parbreastions. -- Ignorantly, * Disclaimer: I am a guest and *not* a member of the MIT CSAIL.
