On Mon, 1 Aug 2005 16:22:55 +0000 (UTC), Jeremiah DeWitt Weiner staggered into the Black Sun and said: Yep, you can do that, but it'd be a PITA. It'd be better to dump each parbreastion...

Alan, you make your own problems with people. While you have a lot to offer and make useful responses to many posts, when that certain mail filtering subject comes up, you go off the deep end. Some people use c-r type systems and like them, others (and I'm in that group) think they aren't of much value, and still others are probably on middle ground, but you don't seem to be able to see that - you seem to think c-r is the answer for everything and everyone.

The Linux Revolution: What Happened
Let's check out what's happenning in yonder room. There are two people there, each sitting in front of a computer. One's running Linux, and the other...

I've been around much longer than you think (my first Usenet post was in 1991), and have seen you rant and rave for many a year now. I don't dislike you - I think you make obvious and valuable contributions, but I wish you'd lighten up on the c-r stuff.

Pointing out the obvious problems with c-r does not make one a troll.

Nor does defending the use of such systems make one a kook. But you'd be better off if you weren't so damn rabid about it. Consider admitting that c-r may not be everyone's cup of tea.. and accept that not liking it is OK.

Anyway, I have my own problems right now - one house jammed up with stuff from another, contractors coming to do work so rooms have to be emptied, which means jamming more stuff into other rooms. As I woke up this morning, I realized that we need to go rent some space in one of those self storage places. I wish it were a computer problem: hard drives are cheap..
