Pressing Ctrl-Alt-F1 will get you to the first virtual console (text mode). The other five (generally) can be accessed via Ctrl-Alt-F2 to Ctrl-Alt-F6. From one of those you can log in as root and bring down X or even restart the machine if that is your wont. I believe thats RH 7 already used the standard run levels that they use in more current versions.
