It's so funny how Hatter worships Flash like it's the holy grail of everything multimedia.

There are so many professional-level packages for doing all kinds of things that have been ported to Linux and sold for thousands of dollars. Adobe hasn't done it because Flash is a platform for developing Internet content used by a statistical majority of amateur developers (who may be very good at it, but who are considered amateurs), and 99.9999% of them run Windows. It would not be economically sensible for them to release Studio MX for Linux because 5.4 people would buy it.

Let's not even talk about the fact that out of the 10% of desktop users who run Linux, only 0.00000001% of them ever want to purchase ANY software, let alone Flash. They'd surely rather pump out some crappy animated SVG from some KDE app they wrote in raw buttembly that unites in a single composition a rainbow of gaudy colors that never should have been created to begin with. They aren't a very solid consumer base.

I'm not KNOCKING Linux as a desktop platform. I'm not KNOCKING Flash as a multimedia suite, but the argument that Flash hasn't been ported to Linux because Linux sucks is a very poor one.
