When you manipulate the picture in photoshop, you can see what you're doing because it renders the picture into something you can understand, ie the picture itself. How does one take a snapshot of a song file? You don't. Dude's gonna wreck his .wav files. You can't just splice songs together like they're pictures in photoshop, because they're not pictures. Their ultimate purpose is to be converted into sound. You can't use something that manipulates visual media as a sound mixer.

No, the computer is sending the signal to the speaker, Mr. Electronics. The .wav container is so windows media player can interpret the song and play it. You don't use media player for photo manipulation, why is that? Here's a reason, IT WASN'T BUILT FOR THAT.

Although, you could argue that windows media does provide an interpretaton of sound to pictures-animation through the use of its visualizations. Real would be another example. You can't manipulate either the song or the visualizations though. I'm pretty sure that would work out pretty disastrously too. It's apples and oranges. Not happening.
