Help! I messed up my MBR : 3568"mjt" schrieb I think it was the newbie in this case. no harddisk indev-hda? That's possible. Also it might be that it's not relevant here.dev-hdb2 was FAT32 data exchange parbreastion, so there must be some Windows around. Linux newbie shuttlefirewireRAID recommendation I've recently bought an 8 bay external firewire enclosure loaded with 6 drives planning on hooking... Why did you deletedev-hdb2 and hdb3 if you only wanted to change the type of the parbreastion hdb2 from FAT32 to linux? (c?)fdisk allows you to change the parbreastion type directly. Help! I messed up my MBR : 3569 Well, that's fine, but you'll have to specify the root parbreastion and the kernel image! Then don't do that. Select another one. Of course... AFAIK you can toggle only one. The PC has to boot from one and only one parbreastion. Only after an initial code has been read from that parbreastion, a choice can be made to boot from yet another parbreastion. Nope, was meant to become Debian. If he wanted to install Debian, he could have told Debian to usedev-hdb2 and to reformat it as ext2 (if the Debian installer provides for this, as I think it should). ... and you should have told Debian's installer that there are also other OS's around and that you'd like to be able to boot them. As mjt says, boot from your SUSE CD DVD, boot the installed system and rescue from there. Next time you install another OS, leave the booting untouched and then edit SUSE's grub boot menu. HTH Martin
