What you are tring to do is a hacker project. You want your standalone DVD player to play some files that it normally doesn't, try to understand why it doesn't - Your DVD player is a mini computer in itself, it has a a processor, RAM and ROM kind of thing which has software which is capable of playing popuplar disc formats you report it to be playing. Its absolutely analogous to the thing like .. you have a software on your computer which can mp3 files and not some other format like ogg and whatever .. to be able to play such files you will obviously have to use a different software(download it install it and run it )

So for your standalone player to be able to playing other formats than it does .. you need to download a new software for you dvd player and install it on it !! simple ??
