How many on a T1 2905Floyd L. Davidson How many on a T1 2907 I know that roughly 96 dialup users can be hung off of one T1 line, but alas... Okay, okay, okay. I'm the OP ... and I've really lost track of who said what in response to who didn't say something. Here's the deal, though. I asked a simple question on the list, and prefaced it with the fact that it was probably off topic. The question, was pretty simple: how many broadband users can one expect to hang off a single T1 line? I also put in a URL to my website which is tracking my progress in getting broadband to my community. To summarize a bit: we have in our community access to dialup. But, there is a govt. program which may let a community group access a single T1 line. There is no cable or ADSL or SDSL or other telephone services available. Our choice is: statellite, dialup or build a community network and plug into the T1. BTW, the T1 will cost about $900 (canadian) per month ... which is probably way too much, but we have no choice. We are planning to create a wireless broadband service. I'm just wondering if it is reasonable to have a large number (and I have no idea what that might be...20, 40 100?) all trying to share a single 1.5mps T1. How many on a T1 2906 Bob van der Poel I'd like to point out that good caching proxy server between your users... So, if someone has some comments on what is reasonable in today's broadband environment I'd really like to hear them. Thanks. -- Bob van der Poel ** Wynndel, British Columbia, CANADA **
