How to invert the screen colors, to make reading documents easierCharles Fox I agree.. But then GUI's were designed for folks who can't read no..? Never mind "read a lot" :-) Only simple way to achieve this is to use a text mode browser like elinks. The good thing is that it'll use not only the same familiar colors but also the same (fixed-width) font as your other terminal applications - emacs.. shell etc.. Not so good - but I think it's somewhat faster on low bandwidth connections - is the problem of graphics.. depending on how the web pages are designed. A text-mode browser is only going to be able to display something like 'IMG' or the url ofthe pic.. Maybe some text-mode bowsers can be cajoled into invoking external programs such as an image viewer depending on mime types..? I'm not sure which level of the system would do this -- I don't think so.. Since most people are happy with a black (preferably blurred) font on a white background I have come to the conclusion that my preferring a nice (fixed width) font in various colors on a dark grey background must be due to all those years spent writing and maintaining code. MIDI files 3075 Mike Oliver PCs support a variety of hardware MIDI devices, dating at least as far back as FM modulation on the Sound Blaster 16. However, more recent sound implementations, particularly the onboard implementations such... -- in fact I am Well there's at least two of us now.. :-) I've never tried this but a browser such as mozilla lets you define your own colors and there's a box you can check saying something like "always use my colors".. Maybe you could give that a shot.. But it's not that simple because many sites that are not text-oriented use many different colors so where they are concerned I'm not sure how you could switch background-foreground at the press of a button.
