You have to understand that a web browser is an application that runs over a connection provided by the operating system, and makes use of several services provided by the O-S. This is quite different from windoze, where everything is so mashed together that you can't tell anything apart.

OK - there are several things to look at. Look first inetc-resolv.conf and you should see two 'nameserver' declarations:

nameserver 200.40.30.254 nameserver 200.40.220.254

based on a whois lookup of the address you are posting from. Next, try to ping 68.142.197.84 - the syntax is 'ping -nc3 68.142.197.84'. Do you get a response? If yes then try 'ping -c3 www.yahoo.com' If that works, then your browser is misconfigured. If it does not work, what was the exact error message the command produces?

If the ping of 68.142.197.84 does not work, what error message did you get? Does it say "ping: sendto: Network is unreachable"? Then the routing table is not correct, OR your "Internet Connection Sharing" setup is incorrect. I don't use windoze, so I can't help with the setup of windoze. A solution for this would be to go to google, and do a search for the keywords "Internet+Connection+Sharing"

If Internet Connection Sharing is working, then the setup is no different than the default - you would connect to the remote websites directly. If your current windoze browser setup is using a proxy (it doesn't look that way from here), then you would need to configure Firefox to use the same proxy that your windoze setup uses.
