GNU-Linux is coming to the desktop; but you can't cross a chasm in two short steps. You must plan to leap all the way to the other side. GNU-Linux is somewhat like that because microshaft has built in so many dependencies, it is the brave that jump, and those who can't get their act together and don't jump will not be around in the business world for long.

IBM, Novell and governments around the world are changing to GNU-Linux wholesale and this isn't a tea party type of announcement. Its a mbuttive global operation with global impact with billions of dollars already committed.

Nobody is forcing anyone to change, its all being done out of free choices. You are free to stick with vendor lock in products from microshaft - but please don't sacrifice your company's future by committing to vendor locked in products.
