I agree with Richard, in that it does seem like you are fabricating the story as all system venders that I know test their systems with Windows. Besides not everything works in Linux. I can tell you I have been trying to use it for years, but about the only use I have found for it is for browsing the internet, and it does not work all that well at that. Any system can have security problems, and so I don't think that you should just run Linux because of "security". Also having open source is really only a big deal if you understand operating system theory and would work on developing the software. In theory it would be nice to have a system in which you would be able to keep up to date yourself without paying money to somebody to build the components for you. I would say that you have no problems with Linux because you have not really done anything with Linux other than open a browser and navigated through several sites.
