The dependency problems are because you are doing something that you ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO EVER DO. You should NEVER try to pull stuff out of unstable and install it on stable. NEVER, EVER do that, unless you want broken dependencies, stuff not working, etc.

I've told you this repeatedly already and you continue to insist that it is a problem with Debian. It is not, it is an admin problem.

Yes, it is annoying that you can't use udev with a newer kernel on stable. So sorry, but them's the breaks. Things have changed in ways that are not compatible. You don't actually have to use udev you know, you can use static device names like Unix has had since forever.

Look, you're not getting it. The "latest udev in the stable distro" is the same one it...

Your choices are:

1. Upgrade the whole thing to unstable (and live with the issues you get when using a development version). 2. Upgrade the kernel but don't use udev. 3. Upgrade the kernel and try to find a backported udev to go with it. 4. Just use the kernel that it came with. Security fixes get backported so that's not a reason to use a newer one.
