IE1394 DV capture problem in kino 1550On Mon, 12 Jun 2006 14:23:20 GMT, egm staggered into the Black Sun and said: Please don't top-post. Message rearranged for easier reading:
eth1394? Interesting; I've never seen anyone actually using Ethernet-over-Firewire. Neither the dv1394 nor the video1394 module is loaded. OK, so it's seeing the thing as a raw device, not a video device. I think. I don't have any DV devices and I'm not likely to acquire any in the future, so I'm not the best person to ask about DV stuff. However, Googling for "dvgrab documentation" makes me think that the raw device is all you need. But the --dv1394 option to dvgrab can be used to make it grab via the dv1394 module. Just great.... IE1394 DV capture problem in kino 1551 Now it works. I believe this Conceptronic PCI Card isn't very reliable. I probe to changes the... dvgrab can't find a valid device? That's the only thing that seems to be there. Shoot... try looking at the man page for dvgrab, maybe the --noavc option? I don't know; you're going to have to play around with this some. It might help to look insys-bus-ieee1394and make sure the camera's been recognized in the files there. -- Matt GThere is no Darkness in Eternity-But only Light too dim for us to see Brainbench MVP for Linux Admin mail: TRAP + SPAN don't belong ----------------------------- penguins, is Tux." --MegaHAL
