Installation QuestionsInstallation Questions 4281 Whan you ask a question, try to be concise. Many people will be reluctant to read a long paragraph and distill the relevant information from it. Don't bother to tell what... Hello All, I am trying to install Debian Sarge on an Atari clone, the Hades060. I bought a 9-gig SCSI-3 drive just for that. I also have a SCSI Jaz drive that I could use, but it is only 2 gig. I am having trouble in getting the Ram disk to load and work. If I turn on the 9-gig drive, the ram disk freezes when it boots up sometimes mentions about a corrupt free list or else it just freezes. I waited a few minutes and nothing happened. Myabe I should have waited longer??? Without the 9-gig drive turned on the ram disk boots fine. I read somewhere that sometimes some peripherals may have to be turned off in order for the installation ram disk to boot. Could I just turn the 9-gig drive back on after the RAM disk starts? I have noticed that I get different results as I vary the size of the ram disk in my boot arguments. Speaking of the boot arguments I have something else. The kerneal I am using is version 2.2.4.love. There is an updated version on net, 2.4.lovexx and Sarge comes with 2.6. I am wondering if using an updated kernel would solve most of my installation problems. Version 2.4 does work with my Hades. The only problem is the video. I know the ram disk loads, but I get nothing on the screen. The older version works, because it was compiled specifically for the Hades. The problem is that I use a Mach 64 graphics card. I am wondering if there is a statement(s) I could put in my boot argument that would tell the kernel I have a graphics card and to use it. I would need to use it (them) along with the other statement in my boot argument: video=external:1024;768;8;p;0x81000000;7864320;0xb0000000;8;svga Anyone know what I need to add or have a suggestion?
