You do understand that Social Security IS NOT a retirement fund, but rather a "supplemental" income source, right? It was never designed to be your retirement "pension".
As far as the whole "put Congress under the social security system" issue, and the fact that you won't vote for anyone who doesn't support that, you will then not be voting, at least that is what it sounds like.
If you want to change government, vote for the people who represent your views, ethics, morals and beliefs, regardless of party... or run for office yourself. But don't make your vote contingent on a "one issue" platform. Then you become the enemy, who does vote on one issue platforms.

We have the government we asked for demanded allowed because of our complacency. We don't want to run for office, even though we complain about everyone being corrupt, preferring to complain about it rather than get involved beyond the canvbutting and voting we do, all because it is just "too much work". Well, anything worth having is going to take a lot of work.
