Is Windows becoming irrelevant 1211Ignoramus19383 I am also by no means a professional photographer, at best an amateur-with-some-potential. I own a prosumer type digital camera (Fuji S2Pro) and do the odd marriage, some product photography, nature (flora mostly), montages & panoramic shots, I repair old-damaged pictures for 'customers', beautify portraits, (the works: wrinkles, makeup, enhance-diminish facial features), print proofing and for my own fun I use photoshop a lot to create digital artsy-fartsy crap or enhance my Brycelings wit. Is Windows becoming irrelevant 1213 Roy Schestowitz It's not a plugin but a fundamental function in Photoshop. And I don't... I agree, quite often all I do is a crop, unsharp mask, colour correction, resize and perhaps some additional toning. In those cases I try to stick to the Gimp. Only the USM sometimes takes ages on a 4500 x 2400 image using Gimp, it doesn't seem predictable when this will be the case upfront. Haven't checked XV yet. WIll see if I have any use for it here. -- There's no such thing as a 'cute baby'. What the proud parents are referring to (that wrinkled toothless dribbling diaperfiller) as beautiful is only induced by our inborn mechanism to respond to living things with out-of-proportion heads, too big eyes relatively close together in the face, a huge forehead and the hormones the mongrel activates in the parents. People even tend to have similar sympathy for a baby crocodile. Until it snaps off their finger. That usually brings them back to reality. Is Windows becoming irrelevant 1212 Aquila Deus on Sunday 30 April 2006 21:19 I beg to differ. The GIMP users mailing list and newsgroup get questions on that...
