Is this guy kidding 1158You are obviously pbuttionate, but you offer no criteria on which you base your preference. Without that, we have no way to judge whether your experience relates to our needs. You say, "as long as my computer does the work I need done,..." That tells me nothing about how your work relates to mine. In addition, anyone who makes blanket statements such as, "Point is, most users are too frigging stupid to install anything," immediately loses credibility with me. Point is you seem to be an arrogant bastard that I wouldn't want to spend 10 minutes with. Then, you change hats and seem to have a small streak of objectivity, when you say, "Linux is far from perfect. It has major shortcomings - but fewer than any of the alternatives. It is certainly the least expensive alternative." Without specifics, why should I value your opinion? I use both Macs and PCs. I make my living using computers in both audio and video production. Your final point about Linux being the least expensive is simply meaningless in a business sense. The difference between even free and a couple hundred bucks for an operating system amortized over two or three years is essentially zero.
