Kernel 2.6.13 and FC4I am trying to build the new kernel for my FC4 box (kernel 2.6.11-1.1368 plus 1FC4) , and I configed it and built it just fine. I never had an initrd for it, though. I set up a new entry in my grub called "Fedora 2.6.13 Kernel" for it, using its vmlinuz, and the old initrd. It doesn't boot, and leaves the following exact message (copyed by hand, ughh.) Booting 'Fedora 2.6.13 Kernel' Recording streaming audio 4933 I've tried to use the arecord command as suggested by zentara to capture a RealAudio stream that I was listening to on a website but I can't... root (hd0,0) Filesystem type is ext2fs, parbreastion type 0x83 kernelboot-vmlinuz-2.6.13 ro root=LABEL=rhgb quiet initrdboot-initrd-2.6.11-1.1368 plus 1FC4.img Uncompressing Linux... Recording streaming audio 4931 Alan Searle I have the same objectives as the OP, i.e. to record streaming audio from the internet using a Linux box. I have no trouble... It then hangs. Period. I hit enter for every line, I don't know how it will come out on different viewers. What appears to be happening is that the old initrd is incorrect, leaving major, necessary drivers out. I have access to my 2.6.11 side, so if there is a way to build an initrd , I'm for it. If anything else is majorly wrong, tell me also. Thanks, poly-p man
