Knoppix or Morphix for making LiveCD for Linux clusterknoppix 5.01 mkdosswapfile 2206 Once upon a midnight dreary, while surf pondered weak and weary over many a quaint... I have build a Linux cluster which already has 6 nodes in it. Now it is required to increase the number of nodes of the cluster. To do this users should be able to boot Linux from CD and become a part of the cluster. For this I want to build a Linux Live CD so that peoples' installation is not altered. Which distribution should I remaster i.e. Knoppix or Morphix (eventhough Morphix is also a variant of Knoppix) ? Things to keep in consideration while remastering a) Some how set Static IP can be set in the CD? Every CD has one static IP and a list of hostnames is maintained by default in '-etc-hosts' b) Should automatically mount NFS drives which have been shared by one of my cluster nodes so as to access parallel programs c) Should have support for wide range of hardware so that I don't face a problem for any particular hardware configuration? I have read about Clusterix and other distros but would want to remaster it for my own college. Could someone please suggest which one should I opt for and what are the steps I should follow to achieve this (could someone redirect me to some site also then?) Thanks in advance,...Roshy
