Linux + Thunderbird + Korean inputmicro solution backpack cdwriter hell i've got an external backpack cd-writer. it connects via usb and parallel port. i'm having a hell of a time getting it to... Update... solved! Thanks for that 'hangul2' insight, Daewon. I downloaded imhangul-0.9.11 from Compile and install went smoothly. The following works: GTKIMMODULE=hangul2 firefox GTKIMMODULE=hangul2 thunderbird And, I didn't have to set LANG=koKR.UTF-8 (mine is C by default) If you're installing directly,etc-gtk-2.0-gtk.immodules is automatically updated. But, for those of you wishing to create Slackware package, you can update using .-install-doinst.sh. I'm using IMHANGULGTKIMMODULEFILE=-etc-gtk-2.0-gtk.immodules DIR=-etc-gtk-2.0 test -d $DIR mkdir -p $DIR Now, grep -i hanguletc-gtk-2.0-gtk.immodules gives me "-usr-lib-gtk-2.0-2.2.0-immodules-im-hangul.so" "hangul" "Hangul (KSC 5601)" "gtk+" "-usr-lib-gtk-2.0-immodules-im-hangul.so" "hangul2" "Hangul 2bul" "im-hangul" "-usr-local-share-locale" "ko" "hangul32" "Hangul 3bul 2bul-shifted" "im-hangul" "-usr-local-share-locale" "hangul39" "Hangul 3bul 390" "im-hangul" "-usr-local-share-locale" "hangul3f" "Hangul 3bul Final" "im-hangul" "-usr-local-share-locale" "hangul3s" "Hangul 3bul No-Shift" "im-hangul" "-usr-local-share-locale" "hangul3y" "Hangul 3bul Yetgeul" "im-hangul" "-usr-local-share-locale" CLI: Aliases CLI = Command Line Interface Aliases are short strings that can be used in lieu of longer commands and short scripts that you use...
