Free server monitoring Request for Expressions of Interest
Hi All, I'm thinking of building a free service which will check the status of your servers-services. It'll probably be based on Nagios and will have a completely automated web-based...

The libc is certainly not a good guide: * Buffer overruns are not ruled out by design: gets, sscanf etc. * Interface...

When was the last time you looked at a Linux build?

Time to pull you head out and take a breath of fresh air. Fedora Core 4 has been on one of my machines for nearly a year. It is on 24-7-365 and on line .. has never crashed, never gacked, never had a virus, never had spyware or ad ware, no worms, no keyloggers, no trojans, no browser hijackers. Runs a stellar audio program, (video needs to be worked on but that is also partially the fault of my current display on the box.) .. the system is fast (but takes time to boot) .. it networks well with the other 3 computers in the place. It is not a "geek" system anymore. Installs intuitively and easily (if you know how to read.)

I do not have to run an anti-virus program but I do .. (since almost ALL Linux virus programs are attacking the front end of servers that also have WINDOWS machines networked.) I do not have to scan for malware once a week. I do not have to have Spybot Search and Destroy, Ad-Aware, A-Squared, Spyware Blaster, Spyware Guard, Registry Mechanic, CCleaner and all of the rest of the crap that I have to have on a Windows box to keep it alive!

And I do NOT have to pay twice what it is worth to buy a bunch of pipes and tubing that calls itself a computer.
