Tell that to 90 percent or more of the populous that is using Windows. If they had even a snippet of the problems you Linux advocates claim they would have Windows would be toast by now.

Lan-Networking I will give you. Especially domain controller stuff which sometimes seems to have a mind all it's own. As for disk intesive tasks you are fudding.

I run 24 tracks of audio, with realtime effects and monitoring right through the soundcard, again in realtime with 5msec or less latency. No sweat. I can set up an automated mixdown, while at the same time I am running a driveimage backup, again with not even a skip.

Ever take a look at how many suse updates are issued? It's quite frightening.

You never know how your linux system will react either. Patches are a way of life and problems happen to all operating systems and the programs that run under them.
