Linux and audio pro 3807

Now that you've told me what I can find there, I did take a look. You could have said "Mirror Image Studios in Minneapolis and here's a link to their web site." and it would have been a lot more helpful. I probably would have said "Who? Never heard of them." and pbutted on it. Having looked at the web site, I see that my first impression was accurate.

However, looking at their equipment, I see:

" The Tascam DM-24 is our primary digital console, which interfaces to our computers with TDIF and ADAT. We also have a 32-channel SoundTrac Solo analogue desk and a pair of Yamaha AW4416 DAWs."

"The Mac in the studio is a G4 machine running OS 9.2, Digital Performer, Logic and BIAS Peak."

"Our main Linux machine is a dual AMD Athlon 2600+ with 1GB of RAM, plus an RME Hammerfall 9652 card with twenty four ADAT and two SPDIF ports. Linux software includes the JACK low-latency audio server, the Ardour DAW and the Rosegarden MIDI-audio sequencer."

So what can you tell (I sure can't) about what they actually do with that rig in their studio? Is this what they interface with their digital console? Or do they really use Digital Performer, Logic, and Peak when they really want to get work done? Are these guys friends of yours?

Anyone can use Google to find web sites that are recording studios and mention "Linux." While you may have actually provided an answer to my question, it isn't a very satisfying answer. You think like a programmer, not like a paying customer.
