Enough to know that they never, ever, ever, get exactly what's spec'd. Enough to know that no one ever gives a poo if a subsbreastution doesn't affect the gig. Enough to know that one quick phone call establishes which details are "suggestions" and which ones are deal-breakers.

How many riders have I read? As many as you've had screen names. That's a LOT of riders!

I know, and I'm too lazy to bother with those discussions so I just use Pro Tools. I'll bet dollars to donuts though that if you could butture the client that your Linux rig did everything they need, including being able to open the session (intact) in another facility that uses Pro Tools, you could sell it.

No one really cares whether you use Pro Tools or not, they just wanna know that they can do all the things they've come to expect from Pro Tools. That's how some facilities get by with Logic instead of PT.
