Linux has poor multimedia features 1736

I got the Trident Blade stuff from looking through the PDF of the manual at work (I found it on IBM-Lenovo's website). I don't see any info on boot. I will look through the out.

I don't have a clue on what the native size of the laptop is. I figured I was doing pretty good to find the chipset. This is running what FC4 set-up. Evidently the hardware probing didn't do such a terrific job on the video.

So it looks like you're right about the 830 chipset (82830), I don't have a clue on how to use that information. Even though this laptop has been operational for 5 or 6 months, there are still lots and lots of things I don't know much about (like video and audio set-up, etc.) I figure that once the video and audio are correctly configured I would configure X using xconfig. BTW, audio seems to work sometimes and sometimes it doesn't, then again it could just be that the app's I've been using are quiet.
