Linux installation no go

I am trying to get Mandriva 2007 to install on my machine, but it won't (also tried Suse 10.1 it also refuses).

Trying the "Installation -- ACPI Disabled" option.

I have got to the screen which asks for the mouse (the mouse does not function from start of install), it's a regular USB mouse, but it comes up with the error:

insmod'ing module satanv failed atusr-lib-libDraX-modules.pm line 317

Bash3.2 available for FTP
Introduction ============ The first public release of bash-3.2 is now available with the URLs ftp:--ftp.cwru.edu-pub-bash-bash-3.2.tar.gz ftp:--ftp.gnu.org-pub-gnu-bash-bash-3.2.tar.gz and from the usual GNU mirror...

I then go to the next screen:

Found "nVidia CorpMCP55 SATA Controller" Do you have another?

Select no, and there's an error then get thrown back to the same selection screen. When selecting the "more information" option it gives the following:

All are tagged unknown, any that show it are subv:1043 subd:8239

nVidia CorpMCP55 PCI Express bridge BRIDGEPCI AMDK8 Address Map BRIDGEHOST AMDK8 DRAM Controller BRIDGEHOST nVidia CorpMCP55 LPC Bridge BRIDGEISA

Anyone know what is going on, the kit is not that new to be unknown?

Strangely, I managed to get Mandriva 2006 to install, but it refuses to boot to it since it's first reboot when initially installed, it just hangs.

Darius
