Linux is horrible. 1629-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Kier Indeed, I rarely leave the house without it (it's saved me and others a *lot* of times). The HD install wasn't particularly good the last time I tried it, though. Will have to try again this summer. Well, it may not be dead, but I still discourage its use, both from a usability perspective, and for technical reasons.
Seriously though, Ubuntu does appear to be a good distro for both beginners and more advanced users (though I myself prefer the total control of Gentoo). I installed it for a friend of mine a while ago, and he now uses it exclusively because his Windows hard-disk took a nose-dive. He appears to be happy with Gnome, but I'm considering throwing KDE on it too, and let him decide which is better in the end. But of course, first I need to ensure that all key applications work, the most important apparently being HL2-CS. I'm fairly sure Cedega will run it, but he does have an ATI graphics card. I'll have to look into that soon. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.2.2 (GNU-Linux) iD8DBQFEk7ytd1ZThqotgfgRAtS6AKDCVteU+YX5Bpgk8zg6jEKUQXCuXACdHOn0 eJUHS-J6YrHakEKmJXJQJVY= =k89U -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- PeKaJe I can just imagine a cluster of Windows machines.
