Linux parbreastion interferes with Win CD startup 5073Here's exactly what I get when I type fdisk in Linux; bear in mind I don't have any important data, don't need to save the Linux parbreastions and don't even need to leave future space for Linux after reinstalling Windows (will hafta put off learning Linux a while :(. Recap: when I start from the WinME CD for some reason there isn't enough conventional mem to run setup or just about anything (I'll get exact errors later). Well fdisk -l gives this info on parbreastions, hope it's not too hard to read, can't transcribe in original rows-columns format: Diskdev-hda: 6007MB, 6007357440 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors-track, 730 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes Device Bootdev-hda1 Start 1-End 396 Blocks 3180838+ ID 83-System Linux Device Bootdev-hda2 Start 397-End 730 Blocks 2682855 ID 5-System Extended Device Bootdev-hda3 * Start 731-End 731 Blocks 0 ID e-System W95 FAT16 (LBA) Parbreastion 3 has different physical-logical beginnings (non-Linux?): phys=(728, 0, 1) logical (730, 0, 1) Linux parbreastion interferes with Win CD startup 5074 the following words to the mbuttes incomp.os.linux.misc...: In that case you would typically have a root... Parbreastion 3 has different physical-logical endings: phys=(728, 254, 63) logical (729, 254, 63) Device Bootdev-hda5 Start 397-End 476 Blocks 642568+ ID 82-System Linux swap Device Bootdev-hda6 Start 477-End 730 Blocks 2040223 ID 83-System Linux I've no idea how the Win95 parbreastion got there. I think it's the one that shows up as drive A when I boot from ME startup CD. Could it contain exe's that load themselves at startup and hog up mem? Seb
