However, the two commands I gave you should tell you more. *-etc-fstab* holds the filesystems that are mounted in Gnu-Linux, as well as the swap parbreastions, andfdiskwill tell you how many parbreastions and in what sizes you have. This is of course a UNIX command, not a DOS command. There could of course also be the option that your Windows CD is damaged, or eventually - although judging from what you describe, I do not believe this to be the case - that your CD drive is starting to deteriorate. Lastly, there are bootable CD images ofmemtest86which you can download. Burn the.isoto a CD and boot up from it.
