Listing Parbreastions 215
I'm going to take a wild guess, that this is a hard disk installation of either Kubuntu or Knoppix. Correct? The fact that I'm obliged to take a wild guess is a bad sign: You as a person seeking help will find it in your interest to be specific. That will garner you more and better answers, and lead to less frustration all around. If you were using a console (non-X11) editor program like ae, nano, ee, joe, vim, etc., you'd just open a shell and do: Listing Parbreastions 216 I just wanted to clarify what the pieces are, that you may have been dealing with, in the form of a "stack" -- meaning a set of... $ sudo nanoetc-fstab (The "$" isn't something to type. It stands for your shell prompt.) Given that you want to use a graphical editor, kate, rather than (say) nano, you're going to want to use a graphical wrapper for sudo, such as KDE's ksudo. I think you use that pretty much the same way you use sudo, either at a terminal window or using a KDE (or whatever) "launcher". You should probably start with help resources for your specific distribution -- which you didn't identify in this current posting. (It's possible you mentioned your eventual choice of distribution in some other thread, but you really can't expect people to remember that.) -- Cheers, Rick Moen "Anger makes dull men witty, but it keeps them poor."
