Making settings stick 260Sorry, I should have been more clear. I was referring to various configuration settings in KDE, Suse10 - the basic GUI setup. There seemed to be a number of things that just were not sticking between boots. Mostly small things, but annoying. One was that the rubbish icon (trashbin?) kept moving. I was able to fix that after finding via Google that it was a KDE3.4 bug. An update to KDE3.5 did, indeed, fix it. So that got me to thinking that maybe there were other basic issues about GUI settings that I wasn't aware of. In reading your answers it sounds like the problems I'm finding may all be separate issues. gKrellM is a GUI for lmsensors. It displays CPU temp, etc. on the Desktop and provides for heat alerts when the temp. goes too high. The configuration is fine, and the settings are not lost from the configuration files, but sometimes gKrellM just simply doesn't find its own configuration settings when it loads. Then there's no display and I have to reconfigure the whole thing. It works about 2 times out of 3.
