Mounting a second drive to LVM 2667Mounting a second drive to LVM 2668 On Sun, 01 Oct 2006 13:43:55 -0500, Neil Cherry staggered into the Black Sun and... On Sun, 01 Oct 2006 11:18:24 -0500, Dances With Crows Sorry about the hda2 it was hdb2. I usedmnt because it was available. I'm at runlevel 1 and there is no automount so mounting it undermnt isn't going to hurt it. I'm so used to mounting temporary disks on mnt from my years of Unix. We usually didn't have spares and the floppy was mounted there normally, but that was a *long* time ago. :-) My problem with the HOWTO is that I can't tell if the commands are destructive or not. A lot of the HOWTO is on creating a new disk for use with LVM. I have an existing disk. I get very nervous typing in commands that I'm not sure of the outcome. I have found a way to get around this. I'll format my new 200G drive as an ext3, boot the mangled 300G disk (it still boots) and save what I can. I'll then do my repair with another drive I loaded this morning. A new motherboard is on the way (bad EIDE on #1, bad ram on #2, good drives all around, grrr!). Thanks to everyone for there help.
