The problem with these folk is that they do not think at any depth and have adopted linux, not as an operating system, but, as you suggest, as some kind of way of life that they evangelize from sun up to sun down. They have their own Satan personified in Bill Gates and their savior in Linus Torvalds. They are not really interested in getting anything done and any logic that shows them to be without visible means of support is ignored in favor of casting the information as from some ancient poster referred to as "flatfish" who must have twisted their tails to a degree that they can never forget. I would like to find some annals of the flatfish somewhere just to see what the fuss was all about.
