Why on earth do you, and so many others, reinterpret what the OP says to mean he wants Linux to be like Windows? I cannot see he has made a single utterance that indicates anything like that.

The facts that he mentions some things that have worked better for him under Windows than under Linux, do not at all imply that he wants Linux to be "like Windows" beyond that he wants things to *work*. I write and say *work*, not "work the same way as under Windows". In fact, if something works under Windows and not under Linux, then Windows has a desirable property which Linux has not. Just don't split hairs to redifine what consbreastutes something working, or what consbreastutes a desirable state of affairs. None of that will change the facts on the ground.

Why on earth do you talk about "instant gratification" when the OP clearly has spent days trying to solve his problems?

Are you guys completely allergic when you see anything other than "haleluja linux, haleluja"? Does it break your nerves to hear that someone might have experienced less problems in some areas, with Windows?

I percieve this kind of replies as perfectly dishonest. You know perfectly well that you are falsifying his statements, and bashing him for having said things he has not said, and for having done things he has never said or implied that he has done. It looks like a really stupid and primitive way of escaping an embarrasment for your pet OS.

Why on earth do you get so offended merely because he says, as is probably true, that he feel like giving up? Most likely he comes here because he is still reluctant to give up and wants to fight the problems a little more, and hopes for some encouragement and help.

What the heck do you intend to achieve with this barrage of hate-post? Do you believe that the problems go away if he just disappears from this newsgroup?

for the OP, on the basis of the injection point of the posts. I can tell you two things: I too have had a lot of problems being able to access flash contents on the net, and the problems lasted for years. Second, I use the news-server that my ISP offers. I live i Norway and have a Norwegian ISP, but it turns out that the news server belongs to a company in Austin, USA. I have no idea how many people use this newsserver, I guess that there are millions, if not hundreds of millions of people around the globe, that could be accused of being sockpuppets of mine (or the other way around) based on the posting server. I have not bothered to investigate the IP of the OP's posting server, but given that I too have had the same problem, I know the problem is real, and the basis for the accusation is *weak*.
