On Fri, 16 Dec 2005 08:11:23 -0800, Amamba Wow! You're up and running on your first try. Way to go! This says...

I should know that, who had to write a driver for a Lexmark printer, X74-X75. I was in a hurry and bought the wrong brand.

But what has that to do with the distorted responses the OP is getting?

See above.

You were luckier than me. Or more clever, or have more talent for attention to details.

I do believe that I would have solved the problems at last if it had been of real importance to me. But occasionally I found it quite irritating when visiting web sites, not being able to peruse the contents, so I tried again (hoping that a newer version of the plugin or of the browser would do better. I frankly don't know why I never succeded until perhaps a year and a half ago. I believe I tried for the first time around 2001, too. Mozilla, then FireFox.

For me, the main point is that it is perfectly possible that the OP is honest both when he says he has tried and when he complains about little success.

Oh, thanks, I stand corrected. At this point the coincidence of posting IP addresses becomes a rather natural suspiction raiser.

I take it that this line translates into English as "The well known Net Kook Alan Conner peeed" Just a personal opinion: When a suggestion has...

I now googled a little for the two mail addresses, and found that Eugene ("Amamba") has been active in a variety of newsgroup at least since 2002, but in none of the around 15 posts I looked at was there any trace of toll-like behaviour. His posts were not inflamatory, and the threads were in no way derailed by his or any other posts.

The other address only gave one earlier hit, not much to go on.

Ok, now I have found the options-show original links on google, and I found that the OP has had two different IP addresses fromthe same block, indicating that he does not have a static IP; on the other hand he has had the same IP for quite a number of different posts since July 31, seemingly he has a rather semi-static IP address, making it quite likely that the other mail-account was indeed a sockpuppet. The only other post

Strange then that this post had nothing conflictive about it, and was not operating in tandem with any other poster. None of the other posts in the thread I checked were from the same IP. There is little indication that the OP *habitually* uses sockpuppets. I wonder if this came as a reaction to the barrage of unfriendly mis-attributive responses.

You are right.

Thanks.

-Enrique
