NTP problem I think. 269
Jean-David Beyer I let it keep running like that and it calmed down and now talks like this...

Dan Espen

A little shell script:

$ while true; do date; ls -lvar-lib-ntp-drift; catvar-lib-ntp-drift; sleep 900; done

Are you looking for a new Operating System 271
OK, let's start with the basics: Do you know what Usenet is? Do you know what a News Group is? How about...

Mine talks like this:

#usr-sbin-ntpd -d addtosyslog: precision = 1.000 usec createsockets(123) bind() fd 4, family 2, port 123, addr 0.0.0.0, flags=8 addtosyslog: Listening on interface wildcard, 0.0.0.0#123 bind() fd 5, family 10, port 123, addr ::, flags=0 addtosyslog: Listening on interface wildcard, ::#123 bind() fd 6, family 2, port 123, addr 127.0.0.1, flags=0 addtosyslog: Listening on interface lo, 127.0.0.1#123 bind() fd 7, family 2, port 123, addr 192.168.1.202, flags=8 addtosyslog: Listening on interface eth0, 192.168.1.202#123 initio: maxactivefd 7 keyexpire: at 0 peerclear: at 0 buttoc ID 660 refid INIT ttl 0 key 00000000 addtosyslog: frequency initialized -14.446 PPM fromvar-lib-ntp-drift bind() fd 9, family 2, port 123, addr 192.168.1.255, flags=8 iosetbclient: Opened broadcast client on interface 3, socket: 9 iosetbclient: Opened broadcast clients reportevent: system event 'eventrestart' (0x01) status 'syncalarm, syncunspec, 1 event, even tunspec' (0xc010) authagekeys: at 1 keys 1 expired 0 timer: refresh ts 0 authagekeys: at 60 keys 1 expired 0 authagekeys: at 120 keys 1 expired 0 authagekeys: at 180 keys 1 expired 0

Do you suppose I have configured something wrong? Or What?

For my main machine, I am using the servers at:

server 0.us.pool.ntp.org server 1.us.pool.ntp.org server 2.us.pool.ntp.org

I am allowed the first one because I subscribe to Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

For the machine that appears to be in trouble, I use 192.168.1.251, which is my main machine.
