yep -- found out by using;

apt-get install sudo apt-get install hdparm

...again thanks - I just thought that perhaps many 'tools' would be packaged together in some sort of an admin bundle.

thanks - I happened to have d-l the first 4 CDs, but I guess it isn't worth it to even burn the remaining ISOs I d-led (#2, 3, 4), since I can just use the FTP-HTTP servers....I know there's a sources.list file somewhere? that can be edited?

I do not think my SWAP file is being utilized - do I need to put a 'swapon' entry inetc-fstab or something-somewhere like that ? or just run the command ?(notice; hda8 swap , mount point=none)

so I tried '-sbin-swapon -L swap' and many other (pseudo) label names - so since it hasnolabel as seen in cfdisk- no go - but swapon -s gives $sbin-swapon -s Filename Type Size Used Prioritydev-hda8 parbreastion 1461872 0 -1

Also - I have no idea why I can't view ALL my parbreastions anymore in KDE (Konquerer) - must be some 'permissions' thing;
