OT: Most clueless ISP award 7466Michael Heiming There are plenty of add-on spam filtering packages available, too. But like you just said, if it's not installed by default few people will use it. Verizon is one of the largest telecom providers (not just Internet; wireless, local and long distance telephone, too) in the U.S. Their website mentions 57 million customers, 250,000 employees, and annual revenues of $90 billion. Verizon is a *very* large enbreasty. It wouldn't surprise me if the person responsible for the policy couldn't even find Europe on a map. (I'm only half joking.) I have also encountered those who think that Europe is a country...and a small and insignificant one at that. I'm *sure* you're right when you say they aren't aware of the population of Europe. OT: Most clueless ISP award 7468 On comp.os.linux.misc, in Bob, Sure. That's right. But NP isn't. And I don't need to log into it, per se... There is also somewhat of an atbreastude (at certain times by certain people) that nothing of value originates outside the U.S. Seriously. OT: Most clueless ISP award 7467 On comp.os.linux.misc, in Philosopher" Blah. Prove it. Your posting history indicates that you are, at best, the newest of newbies. Most of your... Irrelevant, IMHO. It's "from the USA" or "not from the USA" that matters in some cases---whether it's e-mail or anything else. Anything that originates in the U.S. is good for Americans. Anything entering from outside the country is bad. Everyone knows that. ;) (I might be a little more cynical than most, living in Canada just a short hop from the U.S. border. But I see that atbreastude all too often.)
