OpenSolaris Speed VS. Linux. 4199-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Tony Lawrence Do explain how IBM can do anything more than just drop support for Linux (which isn't really that catastrophic). Be very specific, and remember that once you license something under the GPL, it can never be revoked (but it can be dual-licensed, and future versions of their own work may only be licensed with a proprietary license, at their discretion). Also, don't say that they will use patents against Linux. That doesn't really work with that license, since they would then effectively be infringing copyrights on every GPL product they've ever sold. OpenSolaris Speed VS. Linux. 4200 Peter Jensen IBM has a couple of zillion patents and copyrights and legions of well fed lawyers... Could you perhaps also explain what conditions would force them to go against Linux? I'm not really seeing it, but surely you must have a worst-case scenario ready ... Or were you just spreading FUD and hoping that nobody would notice? This should be entertaining ... -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.1 (GNU-Linux) iD8DBQFCefPXd1ZThqotgfgRAjpaAJ9v4SwRCGNUnJGckD7OkdABvpgQSQCffott ymZ-Bohd2TjkrraITXJ8fIA= =G4D5 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- PeKaJe Linux has a history of standing on the shoulders of giants, while Microsoft has a history of trying to break giants' legs. The latter is quite less efficient.
