In fact, in raw terms, the CDDL allows you to do *more* things with it than does GPL code!

BSD removed that advertising clause, didn't it? I know some really cool BSD licensed projects that are decades ahead of their GPL counterparts.
Witness the famous mySQL vs. PostgreSQL. mySQL is GPL licensed, and can hardly be called a RDBMS. In fact, it changes the tables depending on what the input is!
PostgreSQL on the other hand is BSD licensed. It is rock solid, feature packed, and can definately claim to be a RDBMS. It is possibly one of the best open source projects in existance in terms of technical quality.
OpenSolaris will be sort of like PostgreSQL. OpenSolaris will be the freer and technically superiour offering. It will be just like the PosgreSQL vs. mySQL debate. It'll be OpenSolaris (the superiour project (think postgresql)) vs. Linux (inferiour (think mySQL))
Only newbies(those without a clue) and followers choose mySQL. Anyone with an understanding of proper RDBMS design and that knows what 3NF is will choose PostgreSQL. Or in proper operating systems, those in the know will run OpenSolaris. Clueless newbies and followers will run Linux.
You are a hypocrite. On many Linux distros, there are many different licenses in various projects. MPL, etc. I bet you use other programs that have licenses like the MPL.
