Overview of a few Linux Disto's not in depth from a home userOn Fri, 21 Apr 2006 22:43:24 -0500, flatfish+++ I agree, when my virus checking program expired, I thought there goes another $$$$ for a new program. That had me thinking about the time I spent each week doing checks, ie, defrag, virus scan, malware, cache flushing, etc, etc. I thought about what I am using a computer for and thought maybe that Linux thing might work, no viruses and no malware. I Googled a while and learned what i could and downloaded Debian Sarge which had just been released and off I went. Debian was a little confusing to me as I said so I searched some more. Want to know a secret on HOW to Control the Dreams... If it didn't work so well I probably would still be using it as silly as that sounds. I like to tinker a little and that is the reason for all the distros I have tried out. But for a new Linux user it is a great choice for a first distro. I think that for many people they could sit down and use it and if you didn't tell them, they would think they were using a modified Windows.
