PCLinuxOS 1625tab spewed this vial garbage: Huh? Texstar never did anything with KDE for Mandrake-Mandriva. He only had a huge 3rd party repository for Mandrake that was extremely popular to the point that many Mandrake users preferred his rpms over the official ones from Mandrake. No, but he's also not the only packager for PCLinuxOS. He's the main one, but there's a small but dedicated team to help him - some of which are undoubtedly Gnome users. PCLinuxOS 1626 On Friday 16 June 2006 03:32, Rick stood up and spoke the following words to the mbuttes incomp.os.linux.misc...: Haven't tried it out yet myself, but I'll... Urrrrnt.... Wrong again. Texstar said he doesn't know what he's going to do for the .94 release, and has only considered a change to Fedora base because he doesn't like the direction Mandriva has been heading in recent years. However nothing has been started, nor has a change been official. Let alone, think that it will happen in August. .93 isn't even out yet, which is still Mandriva based, let alone the .94 release that he's considering changing for. You can get a .93 MiniMe release, which is just a minimal install disk that's a teaser release to the offical .93 LiveCD that's due any day now. Actually, Francois Bancilhon from Mandriva has contacted him about some collaboration for Mandriva, so things are still up in the air. From Texstar: "I will say I've been looking at Fedora Core pretty hard but haven't made a firm decision as yet. I'm mainly interested in getting just a base core install then building it up from there using gcc 4 and updated glibc. Everything else that you like about pclinuxos will be ported to our new build so pclinuxos will still look basically the same except for some menu adjustments."
