Partimage Knoppix and permissionsGoCoogs It may be as simple as you need to create a *mount* point...or you just didn't define *which* parbreastion ....-dev-sda1 ...ordev-sda2 NOTE; I'm using*asterisks*to focus and highlight only - they are NOT meant as commands, nor as keystrokes-keypresses.... with root privileges; # mkdirmnt-tmp # mount -t ext2dev-sda1 mnt-tmp In above example; the mount point 'tmp' can be given any name you want to use. Terminal-Console) (AFAIK - there's only 4 VT-VCs on the Knoppix LiveCD; v3.6 anyway) hacked x Does your firewall allow SSH from outside ? What else is allowed ? (iptables --list shows the current firewall setup, IF you... Most (many?) GNU-Linux HDD installs utilize 6 VT-VCs - so CTRL+ALT+*F7* would bring you back to X on those (usually)...unless you customize ofcourse. One can also utilize "Konsole" (KDE) in Knoppix and just prefix the above commands using *sudo* $ sudo mkdirmnt-tmp $ sudo mount -t ext2dev-sda1 mnt-tmp Basically -- each command prefixed with 'sudo' is run as SuperUser (root privileges). $ man sudo $ man mkdir $ man mount for more info Note; on HDD installs on "meant-for-HDD-intended-distros" (not Knoppix), this can vary greatly, as far as how the default 'permissions' are setup...so manipulation(editing) of theetc-sudoers file may be required. If you want a HDD distro similar to Knoppix (Debian Family) - there are many out there (K-Ubuntu, MEPIS, ELive, Kanotix, etc). I never know where to stop trying to explain, so I'll leave it there for now...
