PartimageDVDRAM 3650Black Sun and said: PartimageDVDRAM 3651 I have tried 'dmesg' now. To prepare the media for prompt change I first created a backup with Partimage reducing the size of the image file to... OK, this is the partimage client detecting that the parbreastion you're *saving* is FAT32. Not the parbreastion you're writing to. My bad; I hadn't used partimage in a while and a few things have changed. If you're running partimage from a rescue CD, it's unlikely that an automount daemon is running. Your problem is not typical, but automount daemons can occasionally cause the problem you reported. Hm. Can you get to another virtual console with Ctrl-Alt-F2 (there should be virtual consoles running on F1..F6) and run dmesg from there? That may provide some insight; if the DVD-RAM is having problems, it'll write messages to the kernel ring buffer and dmesg will let you see them. Create a Little Open Source Company On Sun, 15 May 2005 17:48:30 +0200, cirux staggered into the Black Sun and said... 0.6.4 is the latest version or pretty close to it. I'm sort of at the end of my rope here; I don't have a DVD-RAM and my DVD+RW uses growisofs (not filesystem-based methods) for writing things. Crap. Try the dmesg thing; I don't really know what else to do. -- Matt GThere is no Darkness in Eternity-But only Light too dim for us to see Brainbench MVP for Linux Admin mail: TRAP + SPAN don't belong
